چکیده

The experimental cold-fission yields for the systein 2 3 ' ~ ( n , h , f ) are analyzed as function of the effective total excitation energy (TXE). The nuclear level density effect is taken into account at higher TXE, in order to benefit by the lower experimental data uncertainty as well as to avoid the quantitative account of the level densities close to fragment ground states. In this way the odd-even staggering which appears in the yields extrapolated at Zero excitatiori energy by using the level densities, vanishes. We conclude that the cold nuclear fragmentatioii theory including the dynamical model desciibes well the experimental data.

Part III: Multi-chance fission

The results of model calculations on nuclide yields produced by fission of excited U nuclei are presented. The calculation combines the modelling of the deexcitation process including the fission competition with the prediction of the nuclide production in the fission of excited U and all daughter nuclei produced in the evaporation cascade. The calculations are relevant for the design of future...

Part II: First-chance fission

The results of model calculations on nuclide yields produced by firstchance fission of excited U nuclei are presented. The calculations show the washing out of structural effects (even-odd structure and fission channels), the broadening of the mass distribution and the reduction of the neutron excess with increasing excitation energy. The calculations are relevant for the design of future secon...

The capture process and first steps to cold fusion

The synthesis of heavy elements in cold fusion reactions using lead and bismuth targets reveals maximum crosssections for central collisions at energies below the barrier predicted by the Bass model. The two-centre shell model [1] gives an approach to explain fusion at such low energies. It assumes that the nucleons move in a potential which is formed by combining the potentials of the individu...

The cold(neutronless) fission of 252 Cf is studied in the frame of a molecular model in which the scission configuration is described by two aligned fragments interacting by means of Coulomb (+ nuclear) forces. The study is carried out for different distances between the fragments tips and excitation energies. For a given deformation, the fragment's total energy is computed via the constrained ...

Fission of Radioactive Beams and Dissipation in Nuclear Matter*

The use of radioactive beams in inverse kinematics dramatically increased the number of isotopes which can be studied at excitation energies ranging from a few to several hundred MeV. Since this method is not subject to target restrictions, long isotopic and isotonic chains could be investigated, and hence, studies of the evolution of fission fragment charge yields, of total kinetic energies, a...
